Directing AI Performance

Making Robots Feel Human

I took the concept behind the classic Monster.com Super Bowl commercial and brought it into the age of AI, with people sharing their thoughts on work and a rapidly changing future.

I directed each AI performance like a real actor, shaping tone, pacing, emotion, facial reactions and lip sync. Even the pauses and awkward moments are intentional.

The goal isn’t a perfect AI performance. It’s one that feels human.

Building an AI World

The National Limerick Society

The fun of this project was building a world that felt completely real. I treated it like a live-action production, scouting locations, casting characters, testing wardrobe and considering everything from architecture and landscaping to the afternoon light.

Small details helped tell the story, like choosing a pale gyrfalcon instead of a dog. Even the imperfections were intentional, making the world feel lived in rather than generated.

I also put characters through screen tests before choosing the final cast. Not everyone made the cut, and along the way there were plenty of happy accidents, strange performances and hilarious bloopers.

The goal wasn’t just to generate images. It was to make the whole ridiculous world feel real.
